Welcome from PHPS' Head of School
Welcome to PHPS,
We are beginning our 63rd year of serving students in our community who learn differently. Our school has a new address and a beautiful new campus at 4000 McEwen in Dallas. Our campus inspires endless possibilities for learning, discovery, and growth; however, our purpose and culture remain the same. Our instruction will always include small-group remediation and intervention, targeting skills to help students succeed. Just as importantly, we help students believe they will succeed.
PHPS is a foundational school. All of our students will return to a mainstream learning environment at some point, and our goal is to provide them with a strong foundation of academic skills, resiliency, self-confidence, and purpose. By allowing students to learn and demonstrate knowledge in their own way, each PHPS student feels valued for who they are and confident in their ability to reach their potential.
In my six years at PHPS, I have developed a deep appreciation for the care and commitment our teachers show every day. Each child matters and is critical to our school community. PHPS teachers truly know our students and cultivate authentic, meaningful relationships with them. They are highly qualified educators, well-prepared in the subjects they teach, but they are also caring and compassionate people dedicated to our students and their unique needs.
I hope you will visit the PHPS campus. When you do, you will see students engaged in multi-sensory learning, completing collaborative STEM projects, creating unique art pieces, participating in music performances, playing soccer at recess, and leading chapel. You will also see students interacting with peers and teachers with ease, smiling with authenticity, and walking with confidence. I invite you to experience this beautiful community firsthand.
