MONDAYS
Open Studio with Ms. Stewart! (4th-6th)
Open Studio invites students to step into the art room and make it their own! Students will be encouraged to follow their curiosity, explore and experiment with new materials, and discover the joy of creating something uniquely theirs. Ms. Stewart will serve as the facilitator, guide, and instructor—introducing exciting materials and techniques, offering creative prompts and project ideas, demonstrating skills, and providing individualized guidance whenever students need it.
Chess Club (K-6th)
The Knight School has partnered with PHPS to provide a fun, exciting and revolutionary approach to teaching chess. In this kid-centered classroom environment, The Knight School teaches kids all the cool tricks, strategies, openings, and tactics in chess which helps the kids learn to love and master the game. Whether your child is brand new to chess or is a chess expert, he/she will be engaged by The Knight School’s experienced coaches.
Homework Club (1st-5th)
Homework Club is an extra hour after school which offers additional support for students who benefit from a quiet, structured environment to complete their homework. A PHPS teacher will be in the room to help get kids started and answer questions as needed. Your child may bring a snack and get right to work after school, allowing him or her to relax and unwind when arriving home. Please note: Homework Club is not tutoring, but rather an opportunity for your child to have a teacher be present to guide, assist and explain homework for your student.
Aftercare (K-6th)
The PHPS aftercare program offers an extra hour (two on Wednesdays) after school where students can work independently on homework, play games, draw, color, create, and also have the option to go outdoors on our playground/sport court/soccer field. The PHPS aftercare program exists to help support working families while offering a safe, fun, positive, and nurturing environment for their children.

Bored No More, Board Game Club (4th-6th)
Interested in learning new games and having some friendly competition? In Board Game Club, we will learn new games, practice well known classics, and enjoy playing games with other PHPS students. You will be sure to find fun and friends in this after school program - all you need is yourself and good sportsmanship!

WEDNESDAYS
STEAM Stars (K-3rd)
Sci-Tech Discovery Center will provide an after-school STEAM program to our K-3rd students! This class will ignite your child’s curiosity with hands-on STEAM Learning Labs and offers an exciting after-school experience. The Sci-Tech Discovery Center curriculum is aligned with grade-level content and covers a diverse array of STEAM topics: science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Your student will build critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering design skills in a fun, exploratory environment!

Rad Readers Book Club (4th-6th)
From adventures to mysteries to classics… come read with us! Students will spend time reading fiction books and enjoying book club discussions. Students will need to bring their own copies of the monthly book.
