PHPS Annual Fund 2021-2022
Preston Hollow Presbyterian School entered the 2021-2022 school year with an eye to the future. We spent the fall reflecting on the past, reviewing our facilities and technology needs. As we entered the spring semester, we have an exciting vision for a newly acquired 1300 sqft space that will serve as the future Tech and Innovation Lab. We have also developed a new instructional technology plan, that will support students K-6th grade with purposefully integrated modern learning devices.
All gifts during the 2021-2022 school year will go towards supporting these new initiatives, which ensure future growth and modern learning for all PHPS students.
K-2nd Grade: iPads
PHPS upgraded the 2008-2012 MacBooks in the 1st-2nd Grade to new iPads with keyboard cases in Fall 2021. Kindergarten was upgraded during the 2020-2021 school year.
3rd-6th Grade: Chromebooks
PHPS seeks to upgrade our 3rd-6th grade MacBooks, which the majority were purchased in 2012, to new 14" touch interactive Chromebooks. Following a device usage survey, we have determined that the majority of student work is done via web-based platforms. This enabled the school to determine that Chromebooks would be a successful device in our learning environment. Moving to the Chromebook will also ensure the school's ability to create a long-term renewal process in all grades.
Tech & Innovation Lab:
PHPS is thrilled to acquire a 1,300 sqft space that will soon become a hub for creativity, collaboration, and innovative learning on our campus. This space is centrally located on the 2nd floor, at the intersection of 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. We are excited to relocate our existing Tech Lab to this new multipurpose space. The Tech & Innovation Lab will serve K-6th grade for both Tech Lab classes, as well as offer the opportunity for teachers to expand past their classroom walls.
