School Journal

Last Tuesday the fourth grade had a lot of fun. We left school in cars and headed for the Dart Train station. Once we arrived at the Dallas Zoo we went to the Nature Exchange. At the Nature Exchange the students got into their outdoor groups. Then they shared information about their items, showed the zoo staff (Rick and Lisa) their journal. Then the children were given points for their item, their journal and for learning about other student's items. Once the students got their points, they looked around for items to exchange their points for. I went with Monday and Friday's group to the Children's Zoo while the other groups were exchanging their items. We crawled through tunnels and went in the barn and played a game. We were all starving and were ready for lunch. After lunch we went to the reptile house and the children broke into their outdoor groups again. We found animals and answered question about the reptiles. Boy that python was HUGE! Glad I was on the other side of the glass. Before we left we took a class picture by the bronze turtle. I was on the turtle's head.
